Educational Information

Micro & Miniature Highlander Cows

Micro Highland Cattle are defined as 36 inches or under at the hip at 3 years old.

Miniature Highland Cattle are defined by 36-42 inches at the hip at 3 years old.

Mid-Mini Highland Cattle are defined as 42-48 inches at the hip.

On our farm we ONLY have micro, and small miniature cattle.

Breeding dwarf genetics into a full size highland can sometimes result in disastrous large bodied, short legged cattle that generally have very short lifespans and health problems.

Our highlands have been bred down in size to the point that they are 1/2 to 1/3 the size of full size

Highlands, but still maintain the correct conformation needed to live a long natural life.

This is something that is unfortunately currently happening in the market due to such high demand, and the buyers are having to deal with the consequences.

We breed conformationally correct tiny cows that are able to live long lives, and reproduce naturally .

Chondro Status: On our farm, we breed chondro to non, or non to non. We never breed chondro to chondro.

Our non chondro carriers are extremely small miniatures compared to the majority of what is on the market.

Our chondro carriers are micro to small miniatures.

Every single one of our breeding stock weigh 1/2 to 1/3 the size of a traditional highland cow of the same age.

They are TRUE micro miniature and miniature high percentage highlands.

Our mini cows range from 50% to 97% Highland, and calves will be 70% and up.

Micro & Miniature Woolly Donkeys

• On our farm, we have mostly miniature woolly donkeys, but we are slowly growing our micro miniature program, and have one breeding pair of standard size Wooly donkeys.

PLEASE NOTE: Donkeys do not do well as singular animals! They really need to at least be in pairs of two in order to be happy.

If you do not purchase two donkeys from us, they need to be going to a home with at least one other donkey or equine companion at a minimum.

If we do not have two donkeys to sell, and you do not have another donkey, we would be happy to hold your donkey (within reason) until you are able to get a second donkey!

We have an amazing micro jennet that loves to babysit!
